Intuition / Motivation

Disclaimer

This was the best thing I could have done before studying Real Analysis. For the latter, I used Daniel Velleman’s amazing textbook How to Prove It. (Really, is one of the best textbooks I have ever read). It really made me understand what proof-based math is about and that is a necessary (but not sufficient) condition for studying real analysis.

Prerequisites for Enjoying this Website

High school math and the basics of set theory (elements, sets, union, intersection, …). Nothing else.

References

I have compiled here what I believe are best math textbooks (and math youtube videos) when it comes to learning both intuition and content. I will make references along the website by using the brackets below.

Here it goes the list:

[DV] – Daniel Velleman’s How to Prove It (the must have one!)

[AG] – Andrew Gleason’s Fundamentals of Abstract Analysis

[SA] – Stephen Abbott’s Understanding Analysis

[BK] – Real Analysis by Bill Kinney, an Amazing Professor

[AC] – Linear Algebra by Aviv Censor, an Amazing Professor
